Will's Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

Youth Hunting Day

Will Looses His First Tooth!

Will finally lost a tooth -with a little help from a football! He did not seem to mind how the tooth came out just as long as the tooth fairy made a visit to our house!

Halloween Night 2008

As always the Cross Creek Trick or Treat was a blast!
This year Logan decided to go scary with his costume choice and dressed up like a wolf man- which did not go over too well with the younger crowd!
Will went with a jedi as his choice and totally enjoyed the many light saber battles throughout the night.

Fall Frenzy

I know it has been pushing 3 months since our last post but the Barber Family has been on the GO!
Our fall started with back to school business! Logan started First Grade this year and is doing great. His teacher Page Hickman Wilson is fantastic for Logan. She does a wonderful job of engaging her class in the learning process. Logan loves all of her fun workshops and doesn't even realize he is learning so much while getting to do all of her fun activities! Will started Kindergarten and he is really enjoying his teacher Susan Peoples. She is perfect for him-very lovey just like him! He is starting to be a great reader- which never ceases to amaze me that my baby is becoming a big boy!
Logan is playing Flag Football! This is too funny! They all run around like crazy people and mostly spend time rolling on the ground. He loves his cool new mouthpiece-which is an added bonus. His team is the Chargers and it is made up of
1st and 2nd graders. Our friend Jake Magers is on the team also. He and Logan spend most of their time discussing who is the coolest Jedi and not so much time worried about touchdowns and pulling flags. Will loves to cheer them on and coach from the sidelines every game.
We spent a night at the FAIR! The boys had a great time as always. Chad & I were as tired as they were when we ended the night. Thank goodness it comes but once a year!
Our MSU tailgate has stepped it up a notch this time. We gathered a group and decided to get organized with our chaos! The Miciellos, the Magers, the Camerons, the James, the Haileys, the Belchers, the Cooks, the Reeves, the Fielders, the Wallaces and the Crockers have all joined us in making our trips to Starkville a blast!
We celebrated Grandparent's day at MRA Elementary recently. Logan's class entertained us with what makes grandparents special. Logan was too cute when performing his speaking part as were the rest of Mrs Wilson's kids. He had his Nana and Papa Edwards and his Pa Barber representing his grandparents. Will was also eager to get checked out of school for the morning and join our family in this celebration!
As you can see we have been busy and when I get a chance I have even more to post!

Logan 7th Birthday Fun

SUMMER FUN

Oh this has been a crazy, jam packed summer of fun here at the Barber house! When the boys got out of school we hit the summer wide open!
The boys had a great time at Vacation Bible School. Will brought his buddy Ayden Kilpatrick so that was the icing on the cake!
They loved Twin Lakes Camp with all of their friends. Each day they would tell me about their many adventures- some good, some bad! The over night was a success- though Will was unsure about sleeping over- I did not recieve the phone call to pick him up!
I enjoyed going on a much needed girl trip! Katie Magers invited a few neighborhood girls to spend a long weekend at her little spot at the Beach Club in Gulf Shores. We had a fantastic time. The following weekend the guys enjoyed the same trip thanks to Kevin!
Logan and his buddy Jackson Joyner enjoyed a week at Jackson Prep Art Camp! Wow did Logan have a blast! I was amazed at the art show when I saw all of the great things he created!
Logan wrapped up that week of art with his 7th birthday! I can't believe he is so old! He had a few friends over for cake and ice cream - and play time. Then a limo picked up the boys and took them to the theater to see Walle! They had a blast! Chad and I rode in the Limo- it was so worth it! They were all super funny on the ride to the theater!
We had a fantastic 4th of July at Ross and Lauren Hailey's cabin on Lake Tethelo with some of our favorite families! The kids had a blast jumping off of the pier into the lake! Chad cooked up some of his famous BBQ and everyone brought yummy side dishes! Sam Hailey definitely liked Georgiana Honea's brownies! The fireworks at dark were a hit!
Our family along with the Tackett family enjoyed a trip to visit Brad's parents in Venore, Tennessee- right on the edge of the Smokies! Logan loved tubing on Lake Telleco and Will must have jumped off of the back of the boat into the lake 20 times! We all enjoyed our day adventure in the mountains! The boys got sling shots which made for a good time when we played along the edge of Little River! Chad and Brad were too excited about the Appalachian Trail and made big plans for a hiking trip!
To wrap up the summer fun we took a trip to the Barber beach house and brought our friends the Correros along! The kids had a blast building castles with Mr Chris! Chad and Danielle did a fantastic job with their culinary skills at feeding time!
I enjoyed just being there with my feet in the sand.
Oh, our summer vacation was packed with activities- but we did enjoy a few days of PJs all day, Movie nights and neighborhood pool fun! I can't believe school starts in a week! Logan will be in 1st grade and Will in Kindergarten!! I'm kind of ready to settle into a routine- especially bedtime!

10 Year Anniversary Party With Fishing With Ed Band

Chad truly out did himself for our 10 year anniversary in May. We went to Rosemary Beach Florida for a little anniversary getaway and while there we went into Destin to eat with "a few friends".. so I thought...
It turned out to be a party at Harbor Docks with our friends.. complete with none other than the best college band ever --Fishing With Ed! I was beside myself when I walked downstairs and saw them on stage! They have not played together in years- many of their wives have never heard them play together! They were great as always- playing all of the favorites (Bo even broke the rule a played Jupiter Coyote song-"Crazy Women"). It was like they had never gone their separate ways! We especially enjoyed their rendition of Justin Timberlake and SNL's Andy Samburg's little song about a certain Christmas box of fun! The staff at Harbor Docks wanted business cards- I thought Chad might quit his job and try to take FWE on the road again!
The boys traveled many miles (Houston TX, Atlanta Ga, & Port St Joe FL) all to reunite for this one night. It was like it was my rehearsal dinner all over again! These guys from Georgia Tech are truly special!! Chad and I so enjoyed reminiscing over sleeping on the apt floor, Krystal for late night, the Ryder truck, kitchen floors, etc. Getting to catch up with each of them and discussing where life had taken them over the years was fantastic!
Beside the band coming all the way to Florida many of our friends made a special trip also. Cori Brown came all the way from Orlando and rocked a little "Feeling Alright" with the band for old times sake! Les and Beth Spivey happened to be in town from Washington,DC for their vacation! My brother Phil came- he is always fun for a night out! Many of our Madison/Jackson friends and family members made the trip- some even left their kids with new babysitters! So, when I saw all of these friends that helped Chad put this together and then traveled all that way, I was completely overwhelmed! It just goes to show you how lucky we are to have such fantastic people in our lives! I can say that we are so blessed by these people willing to be with us for one special night-again- 10 years after the first time!
I hope the guys will do another stop on the Fishing With Ed Reunion Tour- hint! hint! There are a ton of people that heard about the party and want to see FWE again --along with the lucky group that saw them in Destin!!
I will not be satisfied until I get to do it again- and I don't want to wait 10 more years!
Mississippi State plays Ga Tech in Atlanta on Sept 20th! Wouldn't it be fun to bring both of your favorite FWE audiences together for one magical night!! This time we will take money up at the door- judging by the amount of people that tried to come downstairs and get into our "private party" fun - Boys, you might make enough to pay your bar tabs!!!

The Bahamas

Our Vacation to Paradise

Thanks to all of Chad's hard work this year, he won a spot at the AIG National Sales Conference! This year's meeting was held at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island Bahamas! Way to Go Dad- We are Super Lucky!!!!
We had a blast! This was the boys first trip on a plane and out of the country. They were so excited- they thought every detail was so cool!
We were so lucky to have our good friends Barbara and Teven Redstone join us, along with their children Brandon, Marilyn, Elizabeth and John. Also winning a spot on this year's trip were Nana and Papa Edwards. All of these friends and family members made the trip that much more fun.
The boys enjoyed all of the water slides, pools, water parks and beaches that Atlantis had to offer. Logan and Chad went on every slide on the property - much to my horror - Logan was not scared of anything! Logan even got Nana and Papa to ride the "big" slides! Will and I spent quality time at the pool with the little slides- much more my speed! I think he went down the pool slide at least a million times. He also ended every day with a nap in either a beach chair under a palm tree or by the pool in a covered chair. Now that is L-I-V-IN'!!!
Because the Redstone's older children watched the boys at night, Chad and I were able to enjoy all of the convention events! Many thanks to the Redstone Kids- they were great! The boys especially loved John's big brother Brandon who took them to Johnny Rockets every night even though he hates it and rode slide after slide all day!!!
It was a fantastic family vacation- we defiantly want to go back! Thanks Dad!!

Well the BBQ Team is off to a start!
Chad together with, Brad Tackett, John Mark Taylor, Jay Kilpatrick, Rob Armore, and Brian Clegg, have formed the "Sofa King Smokers" Championship BBQ Team.
Thier 1st contest of the year was held at the Bass Pro Shop and despite bad weather they had a great time! Philadelphia's Ham Jam brought their 1st award- Best Sauce!! The hardware has started to roll in!!! They also put their services up for auction (a catered BBQ party of course)at the MRA Garden Party and were purchased for $600!
I think the buyer is in for a treat! Besides making fantastic BBQ, they are sure to entertain any crowd!

Hello friends! It has been a long time since our last update!
Just life happening at the Barber house. Will turned 5
in December which is unbelievable!! He had a bowling
party! I can't believe my baby is 5! A few girls and I
went to Birmingham to stay with Amy Ragland Bickell
and see Keith Urban! It was a large time! Christmas was crazy
with two very excited boys! We had precious time with
all of the "sides" of our family. Santa did not disappoint!
The New Year has started with its usual hectic pace.
School, work and life! The boys are still enjoying school-I
wonder when that will end. Logan had his K5 play. He was
a great little clown. He has also started to become a great
little reader. Even as a teacher this always amazes me!
I got to go on my annual girl's trip to Fort Morgan and that
was a blast as always. We had a house full of friends and fun!
Chad is back into work mode after another hunting season!
So as you can see we are just nutty as always!
